The platform

What we do

A supply company, built on one technology

Alvion Bio manufactures and supplies RevalyxisRevalyxis, a proprietary neonatal MSC platform. We make the cells; our partners turn them into therapies, treatments and research. Everything we do is in service of one job: a dependable supply of exceptional cells, at quality and scale.

We are a stem cell company, not a therapeutics company. Alvion Bio does not develop or market therapies, run clinical trials in patients, or operate clinics. We supply well-characterised neonatal MSCs to the therapy developers, clinicians and researchers who do.

The platform

From ethical source to released product

RevalyxisRevalyxis is the end-to-end process by which we isolate, expand and release neonatal MSCs (AF-MSCs) to a defined, documented standard.

Release

Ethically sourced material

Cells are obtained from term neonatal tissue (amniotic fluid) collected at planned caesarean section, under informed maternal consent and approved protocols, with full chain of custody. Material that would otherwise be discarded becomes a defensible, renewable source.

Isolation & characterisation

Cells are isolated and characterised against defined criteria, including the ISCT minimal markers for mesenchymal stromal cells (CD73, CD90, CD105 positive; haematopoietic markers negative), so partners know exactly what they receive.

Expansion & banking

Master and working cell banks are expanded under controlled, GMP-aligned conditions, designed so quality holds as volume grows, rather than degrading at scale.

Release & supply

Each batch is released against documented specifications and supplied with the provenance and quality records partners and their review boards can stand behind.

Why amniotic fluid cells

A younger, more capable starting material

Mesenchymal stem cells can be drawn from many tissues. Those derived from amniotic fluid hold real, published advantages over adult sources such as bone marrow.

01

Higher proliferation

AF-MSCs expand rapidly and extensively in culture. Unlike bone-marrow MSCs, whose frequency and growth decline with donor age, foetal-origin cells grow faster and reach the volumes a programme needs.

02

Low immunogenicity

Amniotic fluid cells are immune-privileged: they express low levels of immune-activating markers and carry anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory properties, making them well suited to allogeneic use.

03

Less senescence

Published in-vitro work shows AF-MSCs are less prone to replicative senescence than bone-marrow MSCs, retaining their character through extensive expansion.

04

Genomic stability

AF-derived stem cell lines have been maintained for hundreds of population doublings while retaining long telomeres and a normal karyotype, and are reported as non-tumorigenic.

05

Broad potential

AF-MSCs show broad multilineage differentiation potential, giving downstream developers flexibility across applications.

06

Ethical & proprietary

The source is ethically obtained and the process is ours. Competitors cannot simply replicate the combination of source, method and scale.

Neonatal vs adult sources

Built to scale, from a reliable source

Where it matters most for manufacturing, neonatal MSCs hold a clear advantage over adult bone-marrow MSCs.

Scalability

Consistent, reliable source

More scalable

Foetal-origin cells expand extensively, so the platform scales to the volumes partners need without the age-related limits of adult tissue.

Higher yield

More usable cells from the starting material, improving efficiency from the very first step.

Reliable source

A consistent, ethically obtained starting material, rather than variable donor-by-donor marrow that declines with age.
